TGR launches The Woods at 10
As promised, newly formed TGR Ventures is creating synergy in Woods’ operated endeavors. That is apparent this week at the Genesis Open at The Riviera Country Club.
TGR Live is operating the event with proceeds benefitting the Tiger Woods Foundation and local charities.
TGR is debuting the first The Woods pop-up restaurant located just left of the exciting and drivable par-4 10th hole and near the driving range. It will also introduce a free interactive satellite Learning Lab for youth ages 9-17.
In 1992, Tiger became the youngest player in PGA TOUR history to play as a 16-year-old amateur at Riviera in the Los Angeles Open. Although he is unable to compete due to back spasms, Woods is a Southern California native, and the first Tiger Woods Learning Lab is located about an hour away in Anaheim. It seemed fitting for TGR to showcase several important parts of his brand.
The Woods Jupiter, a popular Jupiter, Florida-based restaurant, opened at Harbourside Place in August 2015 and continues to receive rave reviews from locals and visitors alike. To recreate the experience, TGR flew the executive team, including executive chef Carmine DiCandia, from Florida to Los Angeles.
The Woods At 10 features a sample menu that includes lollipop lamb chops, truffle fries, tuna tartar and a bison burger. The lounge area also highlights the restaurant atmosphere. Items are served in distinctive packaging showcasing the accomplishments and records of Woods, whose 79 PGA TOUR wins and 14 major titles rank second all-time.
The on-course restaurant is open to all ticket holders during the tournament and features a spacious patio overlooking the 10th hole and a covered lounge. In addition, an assortment of merchandise from the Nike Tiger Woods Collection is available for purchase.
“We are bringing the TGR expertise and experience to a live event,” said general manager Erica Herman. “It’s just a taste of our menu. This is a way of sharing what we have learned and done. It’s a great opportunity for people to see what we can do.”
A soft opening was held Wednesday.
“So many people have watched this historic tournament on television,” she said. “Now they can come here, experience what The Woods has to offer, and enjoy it live.”
